Seven Students from Stagecoach Performing Arts Garforth and
Wetherby got a wild opportunity to appear in the latest series of Animal
Care Club airing this month.
These eager young cadets got to assist in helping pets, farm animals,
wildlife and zoo animals alongside presenter Kiera Nicole-Brennan.
Shooting in locations across Yorkshire, the students loved every moment
of visiting the Animal Sanctuaries, Wildlife Centres
and Farms.
To be selected Stagecoach helped the students put together head shots
and self-tapes to submit, sending through videos of themselves talking
about their favourite animals.
Student’s Leo, aged 8 from Micklefield, Johnny, aged 7 from Rothwell,
Annie, aged 9 from Methley, Amelia, aged 8 from Wetherby, Zara, aged 8
from Wetherby and Bella, aged 8 from Wetherby where the successful few
to make it onto this fun and educational show.
Presenter Kiera Nicole-Brennan was also very inspiring for the students.
As Channel 5’s Milkshake’s youngest presenter, she really showed the
young performers that dreams really can come true!
Principal Simon Austin was so pleased for his students: 'We were
delighted when so many of our students were selected to take part in
this series. In the past, some of our students filmed with this team so
we knew they were in good hands. Students and parents
were all thrilled when they heard the good news!’
One
of the successful students Bella has dreamed of becoming a vet ever
since she was in Nursery, with a specific interest in working with dogs.
She was over the moon when she found out she would be helping not just
one dog but two in her episode of
the show at Parkhill Vets in Wetherby. Embracing her new role, Bella
got to remove and re-apply a bandage to a sick dog’s leg and her second
case involved some maths as she had to weigh a dog to see how much it
could hold on its poorly leg.
Bella really enjoyed learning from the vets and loved having the chance to care for the dogs:
‘I was really excited to be part of the show, it was exciting telling
my friends and family that I was going to do it. It really inspired me,
I think I would like to be a vet or present Animal Care Club when I'm
older’
